| This Web Page is Dedicated to a man whom I consider a role model for me in life. In early 1994, young American teenagers across the country were wearing the new style of clothing known "X" clothing. This new style revolved around bright colors, which celebrated African culture, with usually a big X in the middle. I thought the X symbolized rebellion. Later I was soon to discover that this "X," did really symbolize rebellion, but actually was part of a mans name, "Malcolm X." | |
| Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little on 19 May 1925. Malcolm was known as a powerful orator. His speeches have influenced thousands of people around the world. He spoke out blatantly against racism. He believed that black people in America needed to stop this hatred against them and needed to vocalize how they felt about it. Malcolm however did not agree with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s philosophy about peaceful protest. Many people have labeled Malcom as a hate monger, which even lead the F.B.I to create a file concerning him. People who that Malcolm X was a hate monger, just simply have not read his book. Only after reading his book people would understand where he came from. There are over 25, different books on the life of Malcolm X. | |
| After knowing more about this weird design, I began to inquire more about this man. I finally went to the library and picked up his biography. Reading his biography has totally changed my perspective about life. Since than I have re-read his book several times. | |
| One of the biggest influences upon Malcolm X's philosphy has been Islam. He felt that Islam was the only religion in the world which liberated men from seeing each other in color, and creating hatred. Instead this religion brought man together for the worship one God, and caused man to see one another as brothers, or the sons of Adam (pbh). | |
