Information:

The Bourges Cathedral was dedicated to St. Etienne and resides 140 miles south of Paris. The construction of this cathedral has incorporated double aisles, and ambulatory, a sexpartite vaulting system, double bays, and plenty of space and light. Attached to the southwest portion of the cathedral are five (5) radiating chapels. The triforium holds six (6) six arches under one (1) greater single arch and the clerestory is divided up with a triplet window. The aisles also contains a triforium and clerestory, plus the arcade oversees the lower side aisles which are eluminated by lancet windows. The nave displays several piers that expand into rib vault supports that take shape like that of Ameins. On the outside, supporting the outside walls, there are flying butresses. The flying butresses support the outside portion of the walls from falling outwards, just like the piers that support the vaulting.
