Programs can be very difficult for a resident advisor to put on each quarter, especailly when DePaul requires 3 programs a quarter with different requirments. Again time and planning is very crucial in order to have a good program and have your residents like it. Here are some programing ideas, please feel free to submit your own.
Contact the Victim Advocate program that we have on campus to come in and present this program. Have them bring facts about stalkers, rape, sexual abuse and sexual assault. Also pamphlets to explain in detail what everything was. A survery to find out how much the residents know about stalker would be helpful. Then provide them with the facts and statistics. Try to make your residents feel comfrtable toopenly discuss this important issues with each other. So, please contact someone that can present this information in an interesting way.

Food for after the program
This program I did at DePaul with the help of the American Red Cross. I called them to present their program called "Till Help Arrives." They sent a certified first aid instructor free of charge to come to the university and present this program. This program will help you residents know what to do in case their is a medical emergency such as a broken leg, a deep cut, drowning, burns, etc. Many of my residents enjoyed this program and now want me to put on a program where they can get certified in CPR.

Food for after the program
This program is about stereotypes. Give your residents catagories such as ethnic backgrounds and other topics. Then tell your residents to write down stereotypes that come to mind when they think about this group. After everyone state their stereotypes, have them discuss them and discuss how they feel that their peers thought the way they did after their backgrounds.
