Welcome to the Morton East High School website.  For more than 100 years, our school has remained the centerpiece of the community.  Morton East High School has prepared numerous local and national leaders in the areas of business, medicine, education, and politics.  Our fine arts and athletic programs have brought national recognition to our school not only for their achievements on stage and on the field, but for the quality of students it has produced.  Throughout the years, Morton East students have continued a long tradition of hard work and dedication that has been the cornerstone of the community.  This tradition has withstood the test of time and therefore, our current students have inherited an outstanding legacy.

Today, our school continues to promote the ideals of our school motto:  “What I will I can.”  Our teaching faculty has helped our school establish new record highs in some key academic areas.  In less than twenty years, our Advanced Placement program has grown by more than 200%.  The number of Advanced Placement tests has also reached an all-time high with more than 300 tests being administered last year as opposed to only 44 fifteen years ago.  Finally, our post-secondary education efforts have also shown great results.  Last year’s Senior class continued the recent trend of establishing a higher number of students applying to two and four year colleges and universities than the previous year.

This year we continue to look for new ways of improving the quality of education we offer our students.  Our school district is committed to implementing strategies that will 1) establish a smaller learning environment for every student, 2) increase the overall literacy and numeracy levels, and 3) engage the community in more productive dialogue concerning academic and financial issues.  I sincerely hope that you find our website helpful and informative.
